He said there was a crack across one of the valve seats two cylinders, that I recall, and showed it to me, but couldn't tell what pointing at, didn't look obviously cracked me do know. He also managed to lose one of the valves, and didn't mark rest for location in head. Anyway, he said the crack was repairable and that head in great shape worth repairing, but quoted over 600 for work, which frankly more than boat. Includes all the valves except lost one, and rockers, including from old head, which I junked. See pics of all the chambers and seats.

I bought this freshwater head from a local marine yard and took it to machinist, who dismantled, cleaned inspected. Should be plenty of valves to work with.
